We are working with a growing building services provider who are looking to appoint an experienced Water Services Manager to lead their water hygiene, plumbing, and compliance operations across a portfolio of commercial and domestic sites.
This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring all water-related services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with current legislation and industry standards.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of the water services function, managing a team of engineers and specialists across plumbing, water hygiene, drainage, and pump systems.
The focus will be on statutory compliance, technical oversight, and service delivery, ensuring high standards across both planned and reactive works.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a team of plumbers, water hygiene technicians, pump engineers and drainage specialists
* Ensure full compliance with ACOP L8, HSG274 and water regulations
* Oversee water hygiene programmes including monitoring, sampling, and remedial works
* Act as the technical lead for plumbing, drainage, pump systems and water treatment
* Manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works delivery
* Review risk assessments, logbooks, and compliance documentation
* Coordinate subcontractors, ensuring quality and compliance standards are met
* Produce reports, quotations, and technical documentation for clients
* Monitor KPIs, team performance, and service delivery standards
* Support audits, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives
What We’re Looking For
* Strong background in water hygiene, plumbing, and building services maintenance
* Proven experience managing compliance in line with ACOP L8 and HSG274
* Experience overseeing teams and multiple workstreams
* Good understanding of closed systems, pumps, and domestic water systems
* Ability to review technical reports, identify risks, and implement solutions
* Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills
* Experience using CAFM or similar systems (desirable)
Qualifications (preferred):
* NVQ Level 3+ in Plumbing or Building Services (or equivalent)
* Water hygiene / legionella qualifications (LCA, City & Guilds, or similar)
* Relevant HNC/HND in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering
