Civil Quantity Surveyor / Estimator – Water & RC Structures
📍 Thurnscoe (Office-Based)
💰 £60,000 – £80,000 + Package
We are a specialist design & build contractor delivering concrete liquid storage tanks and civil structures, primarily within the UK municipal water sector.
Due to continued growth, we are looking to appoint a Civil Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join our team in Thurnscoe.
This is a key role combining both commercial and pre-construction responsibilities, working on tanks, bases, and associated civil infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial (QS Duties):
* Preparation of payment applications
* Cost reporting and reconciliations
* Management of subcontractor accounts
* Commercial support across live projects
Estimating:
* Estimating RC structures, tanks, and civil works
* Take-offs (SMM7) and first principles estimating
* Working across clean water, wastewater, and gas infrastructure projects
* Producing cost plans and tender submissions
Planning & Client Interaction:
* Producing GANTT charts and project programmes
* Attending external meetings with clients and stakeholders
Requirements:
* Experience as a Quantity Surveyor and/or Estimator within civil engineering
* Strong background in reinforced concrete (RC) structures
* Experience within the water sector (desirable, not essential)
* Ability to carry out detailed take-offs and cost planning
* Good commercial awareness and communication skills
Software & Technical Skills:
* TAS Modelling and commercial software
* AutoCAD and related technical applications
* Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project essential)
* Experience with GIS or specialist lighting/signage software advantageous
