Architectural Technologist

A well-established and busy design studio in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist to join their team. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated professional looking to take the next step in their career while working on innovative commercial schemes, mixed-use developments, and high-end bespoke residential projects.

Responsibilities:

Produce detailed technical drawings, specifications, and coordinated design information to a high professional standard.

Collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and other consultants.

Develop and review technical solutions for steel frame and reinforced concrete structures.

Provide technical input on below-ground construction, including foundations, retaining structures, and waterproofing.

Ensure all documentation complies with current UK Building Regulations and relevant statutory requirements.

Support site teams by addressing technical queries and assisting with construction-stage challenges.

Contribute to quality assurance processes and maintain internal technical standards.

Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an Architectural Technologist role.

Proven experience with steel frame, reinforced concrete, and below-ground construction.

Strong technical knowledge of basement and foundation design.

Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, or similar design software.

Strong communication, coordination, and organisational skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with accuracy and professionalism.
