Contracts Manager

Location: Luton (Projects across London & Northern Home Counties)
Sector: Main Contractor – Education / Schools / Public Sector
Salary: £70,000 – £85,000 + Package (DOE)

Overview

An established main contractor delivering refurbishment and new build projects across the education and public sector is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee multiple live projects across the South East.

This is a senior role responsible for managing project delivery teams and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

* Oversee multiple projects (typically £1m–£10m) across schools and education environments

* Manage Site Managers, Project Managers, and subcontractors

* Ensure projects are delivered on programme and within budget

* Maintain health and safety standards across all sites

* Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal commercial teams

* Monitor programme, cost, and quality performance

* Support pre-construction and tender stages where required

* Ensure compliance with safeguarding and live environment protocols

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or Senior Project Manager within a main contractor

* Strong background delivering education / school projects (preferred)

* Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

* Good understanding of commercial and cost control processes

* Strong leadership and communication skills

* SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold), First Aid preferred

* DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain)

* Hands-on approach with the ability to support and drive site teams

* Ideally based within commutable distance of Luton or willing to travel
