Location: Kent
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000

A well-established and forward-thinking main contractor is seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team on a significant industrial development in Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a supportive and structured environment.

The Project
You will be involved in the delivery of a multi-unit industrial scheme comprising 7 warehouse units, working across various stages of the project lifecycle. The role offers exposure to both pre- and post-contract duties on a large-scale, fast-paced development.

The Role
As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial function of the project, working closely with an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor. You will also benefit from regular input and site visits from a Managing Quantity Surveyor, ensuring strong mentorship and professional development.

Key responsibilities include:

Assisting with cost planning and budget management
Supporting procurement processes, including subcontractor packages
Preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts
Monitoring project costs and reporting on financial performance
Assisting with contract administration and compliance
Building strong relationships with site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholdersAbout You

Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field
Some prior experience in a commercial or quantity surveying role (placement or post-graduate)
Strong numerical and analytical skills
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
