Operations Manager

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established, family-run main contractor delivering high-quality planned maintenance, refurbishment, roofing, retrofit, and fire safety projects across London and the South East. With an excellent reputation for service, quality, and long-standing client relationships, they continue to grow across key public and private sectors.

The Opportunity

Due to continued expansion, we are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the successful delivery of multiple contracts and projects across their core business divisions. This is a senior leadership role responsible for operational performance, client satisfaction, team management, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

– Lead the operational delivery of multiple refurbishment, planned works, roofing, retrofit, and fire safety projects

– Manage Contracts Managers, Site Managers, and delivery teams across live sites

– Ensure projects are delivered on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards

– Drive health & safety compliance and operational best practice across all contracts

– Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of service and repeat business

– Monitor project performance, resource allocation, risks, and operational KPIs

– Work closely with the commercial team to maximise profitability and control costs

– Support tender opportunities, mobilisation of new contracts, and business growth plans

– Implement continuous improvement initiatives across systems, processes, and delivery standards

Requirements:

– Proven experience in an Operations Manager or senior contracts leadership role within construction

– Strong background in refurbishment, social housing, planned maintenance, roofing, retrofit or fire safety sectors desirable

– Excellent leadership and people management skills

– Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage performance across multiple contracts

– Sound knowledge of health & safety legislation and construction best practice

– Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills

– Full UK driving licence
