Estimator
Our client, a well-established and reputable main contractor, is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join their growing commercial team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in a diverse range of construction projects and play a key role in securing future work.
The Role
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of construction projects. Working closely with pre-construction, commercial, and operational teams, you will ensure tenders are commercially viable and aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
Analysing drawings, specifications, and project requirements
Sourcing and negotiating prices with subcontractors and suppliers
Identifying risks, opportunities, and value engineering options
Attending site visits and pre-tender meetings as required
Collaborating with internal teams to develop winning bid strategies
Maintaining a strong understanding of market conditions and pricing trendsAbout You
Proven experience as an Estimator within a main contracting environment
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and costs
Excellent analytical and numerical skills
Strong communication and negotiation abilities
Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines effectively
Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office
Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)What's on Offer
