Site Manager
A well-established civil engineering contractor with a turnover of circa £70m is looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to support continued growth across the North West and Cumbria. With a strong pipeline of secured work, particularly within upcoming AMP 8 frameworks, this is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking business delivering complex infrastructure projects.
The Role
You will take full responsibility for managing site operations on a range of water and wastewater schemes, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Schemes will include elements of shaft sinking, deep drainage, and water treatment upgrades.
Key Responsibilities
– Oversee day-to-day site activities, ensuring compliance with HSEQ standards
– Manage subcontractors, direct labour, and site resources
– Deliver projects in line with programme and budget constraints
– Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams
– Ensure all works meet required technical and quality standards
– Provide regular progress reports to senior management
Requirements
– Proven experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering
– Strong background in the water sector, with exposure to AMP frameworks (AMP 7 / AMP 8 desirable)
– Demonstrable experience in shaft sinking and/or water treatment works
– SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualifications
– Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
– Ability to drive projects in a fast-paced environment
