Punch Press Operator

We are seeking a skilled Punch Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating punch presses to produce high-quality sheet metal components, ensuring precision and safety at all times. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in fabrication and mechanical processes to develop their expertise within a dynamic environment.

You will be using an Amada Vipros King.

This is a permanent, full-time role, 39 hours per week

Pay: £30,500 per annum + overtime available

Duties

* Set up and operate punch presses according to specifications and production schedules

* Load and unload sheet metal materials, ensuring correct positioning for accurate punching

* Monitor machine operation, adjusting settings as necessary to maintain quality standards

* Perform routine inspections of tools and equipment, conducting minor maintenance or troubleshooting when required

* Assist with grinding, welding, or assembly tasks as needed to support production processes

* Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations

* Document production data accurately and report any machine malfunctions or safety concerns promptly

Skills

* Proven experience in fabrication, sheet metal work, or similar manufacturing roles

* Proficiency with hand tools, tooling, and basic mechanical knowledge

* Ability to operate grinding and welding equipment is advantageous

* Strong understanding of assembly processes and the use of hand tools in fabrication

* Good grasp of basic maths for measurements and calculations during setup and quality checks

* Knowledge of safety procedures related to punch press operation and metalworking machinery

* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure precision in production tasks
