Graduate Quantity Surveyor – Drylining Subcontractor

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team and develop into a key contributor to our projects.

Role Overview

As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial team in managing project costs, valuations, procurement, and financial reporting across a range of drylining and interior fit‑out packages. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn, detail‑driven, and ready to build a long‑term career in specialist subcontracting.

You will work closely with Senior Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers, and site teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, profitably, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in preparing cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation for drylining and interior packages.

Support the measurement and valuation of works, including on‑site take‑offs and progress assessments.

Help manage subcontractor procurement, including enquiries, comparisons, and order placement.

Contribute to monthly valuations, applications for payment, and cost/value reconciliations.

Maintain accurate project cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting.

Assist with contract administration, variations, and change management.

Liaise with site teams to monitor progress, identify risks, and ensure commercial compliance.

Support the preparation of final accounts and project close‑out documentation.

Participate in internal training and development to build technical and commercial expertise.

Skills & Qualifications

Degree (or expected degree) in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.

Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.

Good understanding of construction processes; knowledge of drylining or interiors is an advantage but not essential.

Confident communicator able to work collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors.

Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with measurement software (e.g., Bluebeam, CostX) is beneficial.

Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and develop professionally within a specialist contractor environment.
