The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established specialist contractor delivering external envelope, façade, and energy efficiency projects across the South West and Wales.

The business operates across residential, commercial, and public sector markets, specialising in refurbishment, external wall insulation (EWI), cladding remediation, façade improvements, and decarbonisation works. With a strong reputation for quality delivery and long-standing client relationships, the company has secured a substantial pipeline of work across Bristol, Cardiff, and the surrounding regions.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor looking to develop within a growing specialist sector with long-term career progression available.

The Role

As Intermediate Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial delivery of multiple projects focused primarily on EWI, façade, and external works packages.

You will work closely with senior commercial staff, operational teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are commercially managed effectively from procurement through to final account.

The role will involve a mixture of office, site, and client-facing responsibilities across projects in Bristol and Cardiff.

Key Responsibilities

Assisting with the commercial management of EWI and external works projects
Preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts
Managing subcontractor procurement and payments
Supporting cost reporting and forecasting
Monitoring project budgets and commercial performance
Liaising with site teams, clients, and subcontractors
Assisting with contract administration and documentation
Supporting the management of project risks and opportunities
Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and commercial targets are achieved

Requirements

Previous experience as an Assistant or Intermediate Quantity Surveyor within construction
Experience within externals, facades, cladding, refurbishment, or EWI is highly advantageous
Good understanding of commercial processes and cost management
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to manage workload across multiple projects

Qualifications

Degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management preferred.
