The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing and well-established business operating across civils, demolition and haulage.
Following the departure of a key senior figure, the business is now looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager / Quantity Surveyor to play a pivotal role in both operational delivery and commercial growth.
This is a unique position offering autonomy, flexibility, and the opportunity to build and shape your own department within a forward-thinking business.
The Role
This is a hybrid position combining contracts management, commercial oversight, and business development responsibilities.
Key duties will include:
* Managing multiple civils and demolition projects from pre-construction through to completion
* Overseeing contractual and commercial performance across projects
* Preparing, reviewing and managing estimates, tenders, and pricing submissions
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and new clients
* Identifying and securing new business opportunities
* Managing variations, valuations, and final accounts
* Supporting operational teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, safely, and within budget
* Taking ownership of the commercial function with scope to develop systems and processes
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience in a Contracts Manager or Quantity Surveyor role within:
* Civil Engineering
* Demolition
* Groundworks / Infrastructure
* Strong commercial awareness with experience in:
* Estimating / tendering
* Cost control and reporting
* Client-facing work
* Ability to win work as well as deliver it
* Self-sufficient and capable of “hitting the ground running”
* Comfortable working in a standalone or leadership capacity
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
* Full UK Driving Licence
