Senior Quantity Surveyor
The Opportunity
We are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing Irish main contractor with a strong UK and Ireland presence. This Senior Quantity Surveyor role will be based on a major student accommodation scheme in Birmingham.
This Senior Quantity Surveyor position is site-based (4 days on site, 1 day in office), working on a £30m+ student accommodation development (240 units). The project is due to start on site in the coming months and will run through to 2029.
For this Senior Quantity Surveyor role, you will be joining at pre-construction stage, giving full commercial ownership from early works through to final account.
Senior Quantity Surveyor – Key Responsibilities
* For this Senior Quantity Surveyor role, you will commercially lead a £30m+ student accommodation project
* Report into the Commercial Manager
* Take full responsibility for all commercial aspects from pre-construction through delivery
* Manage and mentor 1–2 Junior Quantity Surveyors
* Work closely with site and project delivery teams
* Oversee cost control, procurement and commercial reporting
* Ensure accurate financial forecasting and monthly reporting as a Senior Quantity Surveyor
Senior Quantity Surveyor – Requirements
* 7–10 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor
* Experience with a Tier 2 main contractor or large subcontractor
* Strong background delivering projects in the £10m–£50m range
* Proven ability to lead commercial management of live projects
* Degree-qualified (ideally from an Irish university)
* Strong understanding of full project lifecycle duties for a Senior Quantity Surveyor
