Quantity Surveyor / Estimator – Commercial Fit-Out

We are representing a well-established, privately owned principal contractor in their search for a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their team.
This is a confidential opportunity with a long-standing, family-run business delivering high-quality fit-out and refurbishment projects across Greater London and the UK. With a turnover of circa £10m, the company specialises in office fit-out, retail/shop fitting, and hospitality projects, and also operates its own in-house bespoke joinery manufacturing facility.
 
The Role This is a hybrid commercial role combining both pre-construction estimating and post-contract quantity surveying responsibilities. You will play a key role across the full project lifecycle, from tender stage through to final account.
Key duties include:

Preparing detailed cost estimates, tenders, and bid submissions
Reviewing drawings, specifications, and project scopes
Managing project costs from inception through to completion
Procurement of subcontractors and supplier packages
Valuations, variations, and final accounts
Cost reporting and financial forecasting
Liaising with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
Supporting project delivery to ensure commercial success  
About You We are seeking a commercially astute professional who is comfortable working across both estimating and surveying functions.
Requirements:

4+ years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor and/or Estimator role
Background in commercial fit-out, refurbishment, or interiors
Experience across office, retail, or hospitality sectors preferred
Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills
Proficiency in Excel and relevant commercial/estimating software
