We are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to join a live construction project in York.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially strong QS who is confident operating as the number one commercial lead on site, taking full responsibility for all project commercial matters.

Key Responsibilities:

Leading all commercial aspects of the project as the number one on site
Managing procurement processes and subcontractor packages
Overseeing subcontractor management, valuations, payments, and variations
Producing accurate cost reporting, forecasting, and commercial updates
Working closely with the Project Manager to ensure successful delivery
Monitoring budgets, risks, and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle
Supporting the project team to achieve programme and financial targets

Candidate Requirements:

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction projects
Previous experience leading commercial duties independently on site
Strong procurement and subcontractor management background
Excellent commercial reporting and cost control skills
Strong communication and negotiation abilities
