Assistant Quantity Surveyor

We are working with a well-established residential developer who is looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team based in Dorking.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant QS looking to take on more responsibility, working across multiple live residential schemes while being supported by an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor.

The Role

You will be involved in the commercial management of several residential developments, with the opportunity to take ownership of key elements of live sites while gaining exposure to additional projects at various stages.

You will split your time between the office, site visits, and flexible working.

Working pattern:

* Office-based Monday and Friday (early finish on Fridays)

* Tuesday–Thursday: mix of site, office, and WFH

Key Responsibilities

* Assisting with the commercial management of residential projects

* Subcontractor procurement and package management

* Supporting valuations, variations, and cost reporting

* Liaising with site teams and subcontractors

* Assisting with final accounts

* Managing elements of projects independently with support as required

Requirements

* Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or Construction-related discipline

* 1–3 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role

* Understanding of JCT contracts

* Strong organisational and communication skills

* Full UK driving licence
