About the Role

We are recruiting for a Quality Engineer to join a leading main contractor on a high-profile, large-scale construction project in Cardiff. This is a flagship development offering the opportunity to work on a complex, technically challenging build with a well-established project team.

This role is open to candidates currently working as a Quality Engineer, Quality Manager, or Quality Advisor, as well as experienced Site Engineers or Site Managers who have taken responsibility for quality assurance and compliance on major construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

* Implement and maintain the Project Quality Management System (QMS)

* Ensure all works are delivered in line with specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements

* Manage Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and quality documentation

* Conduct site inspections, audits, and quality checks

* Identify and manage non-conformances (NCRs) and corrective actions

* Work closely with site teams to drive a right-first-time culture

* Liaise with subcontractors to ensure quality compliance across all packages

* Support project teams during client inspections and handover processes

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records and reporting

Candidate Requirements

* Experience in a Quality Engineer / Quality Advisor / Quality Manager role
OR

* Background as a Site Engineer or Site Manager with strong quality management experience on large projects

* Proven track record working on major construction or civil engineering projects

* Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, ITPs, and NCR management

* Familiarity with ISO standards and quality systems

* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

* Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
