Senior Site Engineer – Residential Groundworks

Location: Northwich

Salary: £75,000 – £90,000 + Package

A leading civils and groundworks contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Site Engineer to support delivery across multiple residential groundworks schemes in and around Northwich. This is a key role within a well-established business known for delivering high-quality infrastructure and groundwork packages for major housebuilders.

The Role

You will take a senior position on site, responsible for overseeing engineering activities, managing junior engineers, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.

Key Responsibilities

* Setting out for roads, sewers, drainage, and foundations

* Overseeing and mentoring Site Engineers and Junior Engineers

* Managing QA processes, including inspections and documentation

* Coordinating with Site Managers and subcontractors

* Ensuring works are delivered in line with design drawings and specifications

* Supporting programme delivery and resolving technical issues on site

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Senior Engineer within residential groundworks

* Strong setting out skills (GPS/Total Station)

* Excellent knowledge of roads, drainage, and housing infrastructure

* Ability to manage multiple workstreams and teams

* CSCS card (essential)

* Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree preferred)
