Exciting new opportunity to work for a main contractor that specialises in social housing refurbishments

About the role of Estimator

Our client is a main contractor with offices based in Basildon and barking. They specialise social housing refurbs and work across tenders up to £40 mill! Their usual clients are local authorities, housing associations and some private sector clients! Our Client has a great turnover of £13mill!

Our client is looking for someone with strong refurb knowledge and experience in the social housing sector, roofing experience and 4+ years experience in estimating

Responsibilities for Estimator

Reviewing tender documentation

Site visits and surveys (attend pre tender site visits etc)
Measure quantities from drawings or schedules of rates
Produce BOQ's or cost build ups
Subcontractor & supplier enquiries
Build up of preliminaries
Risk identification & allowances
Compliance & social value pricing
Present cost breakdown to directors
Review margins
Agree final mark up
Attend pre start meetings
Handover to commercial & delivery teams
Explain assumptions & risks

Requirements for Estimator

Strong refurb knowledge / experience in social housing sector & planned maintenance
Roofing exp extra beneficial but not essential
Proficient in using Excel
4+ years experience in estimating
