Leeds – Refurbishment of a derelict building into a school building- £4M
£300 Per Day

Blaymires Recruitment is representing a leading fit-out specialist company who are seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee an exciting refurbishment project in Leeds.

You will be responsible for managing the refurbishment of a large derelict school building that has been empty for 10 years into a modern, purpose-built special needs education facility.

The Project

* This £4 million refurbishment and conversion will involve a full-scale transformation of an existing structure, including:

* Large new roof

* Installation of new flooring and carpets

* Painting and decorating throughout

* Extensive plastering works

* Full mechanical and electrical installations

* Replacement with a new slate roof

* Construction of a new car park and associated external/grounds works

Role & Responsibilities

* Day-to-day site management and coordination of subcontractors

* Ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget

* Maintaining high standards of quality and compliance

* Liaising with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders

* Managing site documentation, reporting, and progress tracking

* Overseeing health & safety procedures and site regulations

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Site Manager on refurbishment or conversion projects

* Strong background across multiple trades, including M&E and finishing works

* Valid SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications

* Excellent organisational and communication skills

* Ability to manage programmes and drive progress in a live project environment
