Overview
We are recruiting a Setting Out Engineer for a civils project in Glasgow (G21). The role requires strong experience in foundations, slabs, drainage, QA and the ability to work confidently with digital site systems (iPad). Total Station experience is essential (Trimble preferred, Leica acceptable).
Key Responsibilities
Setting out for foundations, slabs, drainage, groundworks and associated civils packages.
Carrying out as-builts, QA checks, ITPs, site records and digital reporting.
Working confidently with iPad-based QA systems (FieldView/Procore or similar).
Interpreting drawings and ensuring works are delivered to spec.
Liaising with site management, subcontractors and design teams.
Maintaining accurate records, measurements and site documentation.
Supporting site teams with engineering queries and technical guidance.
Essential Experience
Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer / Site Engineer on civils projects.
Strong background in foundations, slabs, drainage, RC works, groundworks.
Confident with QA, ITPs, as-builts, digital reporting.
Competent using an iPad for site documentation.
Total Station experience – Trimble preferred, Leica also acceptable.
Ability to work independently and manage own workload.
Desirable (Not Essential)
Ability to use AutoCAD for basic mark-ups or as-built updates.
Experience with earthworks modelling or GPS machine control.
CSCS card and relevant engineering qualifications.
