Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Lead

Construction Projects | Industrial, Commercial & Specialist Facilities

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Lead to join a highly ambitious and fast-growing organisation delivering a diverse portfolio of construction projects across the UK.

This role offers the chance to take ownership of multiple schemes across industrial units, commercial developments, and specialist processing facilities, working closely with senior leadership and playing a key role in shaping commercial strategy.

Location

* Preferred base: Wiltshire (Head Office)

* Alternative option: Lincolnshire

* Flexibility to be based in either location, with travel between sites and offices required

* Projects are split across both regions

* Preference for Wiltshire-based candidates, though not essential

Package

£80,000 – £85,000 base salary (Negotiable)

Car allowance

Discretionary bonus (up to 10%)

The Opportunity

This is a high-impact role suited to someone who is commercially astute, detail-driven, and confident operating in a fast-paced environment.

You will take a lead role in managing costs across multiple live and upcoming schemes, influencing key decisions and ensuring strong commercial outcomes across the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead commercial strategy, procurement, and contract selection across multiple projects

* Oversee cost planning, valuations, variations, and reporting

* Manage negotiations on contracts and final accounts

* Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks

* Produce high-level cost and value reports for senior stakeholders

* Ensure consistent commercial governance and best practice across projects

* Contribute to long-term investment and capital planning decisions

Reporting & Stakeholders

* Reporting directly to the Managing Director

* Working closely with the Contracts Manager

* Engaging with senior stakeholders, consultants, and supply chain partners

Current & Upcoming Work

You will be involved in a range of schemes including:

* Industrial units and multi-unit developments

* Large-scale groundworks and infrastructure packages

* Commercial and specialist facility projects

* New-build and extension works across operational environments

What We’re Looking For

* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

* Proven experience at Senior QS / Managing Surveyor level

* Strong commercial acumen with exceptional numerical skills

* Experience managing multiple projects or a portfolio

* Confident communicator, able to influence at senior level

* Strong knowledge of contracts (e.g. JCT) and procurement strategies

* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
