About the Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to join our dedicated and dynamic growing team to contribute to our site operations in central Scotland. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to play a key role in shaping the company’s future managing the electrical services for a diverse range of construction projects and refurbishments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Execution

* Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets

* Define project scope, goals, and deliverables

* Ensure timely procurement of materials and equipment

* Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and suppliers

2. Team & Resource Management

* Oversee supervisors, operatives, and subcontractors

* Assign tasks and ensure efficient workforce utilisation

* Provide guidance and support to the project team

3. Design & Technical Oversight

* Review mechanical services designs, drawings, and specifications

* Ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and safety regulations

* Approve technical solutions and oversee implementation

4. Budget & Cost Control

* Track project costs and manage financial resources

* Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality

* Prepare financial reports on budgets and ensure profitability

5. Risk & Safety Management

* Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies

* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures

* Address and resolve any technical or operational issues

6. Communication & Reporting

* Serve as the main point of contact for clients and stakeholders

* Provide regular project updates and reports

* Address project challenges and provide solutions

7. Quality Assurance & Compliance

* Conduct inspections and ensure high-quality workmanship

* Ensure adherence to industry standards and project specifications

* Oversee testing and commissioning

8. Project Closeout

* Conduct final inspections and obtain necessary approvals

* Ensure proper documentation, including as-built drawings

* Close contracts and work with QS to finalise financial settlements

Qualifications

A craft apprenticeship background together with HNC/D qualification (not mandatory but beneficial) in a mechanical building services discipline.

Requirements

5+ years’ post apprenticeship experience in managing mechanical services projects within the commercial and industrial sector

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, predominantly Excel Spreadsheets

Knowledge and experience of Planning Software

Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines

Strong technical & commercial awareness and attention to detail
