Location: Havant (Office-Based)
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 + Training & Development
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm
We’re working with a well-established contractor in the utilities sector who are looking to bring in an Assistant / Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with around 2+ years’ QS or commercial experience who wants exposure across the full project lifecycle, working within a supportive, close-knit and fast-paced team.
The office environment is energetic and collaborative, so this would suit someone who enjoys being around people and being part of a team.
The Role
You’ll be working across multiple frameworks and projects at the same time, supporting commercial delivery across a range of works including water mains, repairs, smart metering and infrastructure upgrades.
Day-to-day, you’ll be involved in:
* Estimating and pricing works
* Managing applications and valuations
* Cost tracking and reporting across projects
* Procurement and raising orders
* Invoicing and financial admin
* Supporting contract administration (NEC-style environments)
* Working closely with operational teams and clients
You’ll get exposure to the full commercial function, making this a great step for someone looking to grow into a fully-fledged QS.
What They’re Looking For
* Around 2+ years’ experience in a QS / Assistant QS / commercial role
* Strong Excel skills (this is heavily spreadsheet-driven)
* Exposure to estimating and cost tracking
* Background in utilities, civils, or infrastructure would be ideal
* Any experience with IFS or CEMAR would be a bonus
* Strong organisation and attention to detail
* A confident communicator and team player
