About the Opportunity
An established and fast-growing construction business is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager or Director to play a pivotal role in driving strategic growth across the South West. This is a high-impact position offering the opportunity to shape regional expansion, build long-term client relationships, and influence overall business direction.

The Role
You will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, developing key partnerships, and strengthening the company’s presence across the region from Bristol through to Exeter. Working closely with senior leadership, you will contribute to growth strategy while maintaining a strong pipeline of projects across multiple sectors.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and implement a targeted business development strategy for the South West region

* Identify, engage, and secure new clients across construction sectors

* Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, consultants, and decision-makers

* Lead bid opportunities, working collaboratively with internal teams

* Monitor market trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities

* Represent the business at industry events, networking functions, and client meetings

* Support long-term strategic growth initiatives

About You

* Proven experience in business development within the construction industry

* Strong network and market knowledge across the South West

* Track record of winning work and developing client relationships

* Commercially astute with strong negotiation and communication skills

* Self-motivated, strategic thinker with a proactive approach

* Based within the South West and willing to travel across the region
