Estimator – Piling/Ground Engineering

Dewey Group is recruiting on behalf of a well-established civil engineering contractor known for delivering technically complex ground engineering and infrastructure projects across the UK and Ireland.
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to support preconstruction activities within a growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in geotechnical or civil engineering who enjoys working collaboratively to develop innovative and commercially sound tender submissions.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and assess incoming project enquiries, prioritising suitable opportunities.

Develop bid strategies in line with client requirements and company objectives.
*
Work closely with technical and operational teams to prepare competitive and value-engineered cost estimates.
*
Identify risks early and propose mitigation strategies at the preconstruction stage.
*
Prepare and present tender documents to clients in a clear, professional format.
*
Support commercial negotiations and handover processes through to project award.
*
Maintain accurate records within the internal CRM system.
*
Assist the business development team with identifying future opportunities aligned with company capabilities.
Required Skills & Experience
*
Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (or equivalent experience); chartership or working towards it preferred.
*
Solid experience in estimating within the ground engineering or specialist civils sector.
*
Strong understanding of techniques such as piling, diaphragm walls, and ground treatment.
*
Ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
*
High attention to detail and accuracy under time constraints.
*
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) desirable.
*
Familiarity with Primavera P6 and Candy is an advantage.
*
Full UK driving licence required.
Location & Travel
*
Based in West London, with the expectation of being office-based three days per week.
*
Occasional travel to project sites and partner offices across the UK as required.
