Overview
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading contractor for an experienced No.1 Site Manager to lead a major groundworks package on a project based in Didcot. This is a 42-week contract opportunity for a highly capable individual with a proven track record of delivering groundworks packages safely, on time, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities

Take full responsibility as the No.1 Site Manager
*
Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered in line with programme and budget
*
Manage site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers effectively
*
Ensure strict adherence to health & safety regulations and company policies
*
Coordinate temporary works and ensure compliance with design and safety requirements
*
Liaise with clients, consultants, and senior management, providing regular progress updates
*
Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and ensure quality control standards are met
*
Identify and resolve any site issues proactively
Requirements
*
Proven experience as a No.1 Site Manager
*
Valid SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification
*
Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS) certification – essential
*
Strong leadership and organisational skills
*
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
*
Ability to manage programmes and drive progress on site
*
CSCS card (Black or equivalent)
*
First Aid qualification (preferred)

This is a key leadership position on a significant project, offering the opportunity to work with a well-regarded contractor. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of the groundworks package from inception through to completion.
