Senior Planner – Construction (Main Contractor)

The Role

As Senior Planner, you will take a leading role in managing the planning process across both pre-construction and live projects. You will be responsible for developing robust, cost-effective programmes and ensuring they are successfully delivered on site.

Key Responsibilities

Produce detailed construction programmes for internal and external use
Develop critical path analysis and resource-loaded schedules
Support project teams with programme development and monitoring
Prepare tender programmes and supporting documentation
Produce regular progress reports for project and regional meetings
Liaise with commercial, design, and delivery teams to ensure programme alignment
Review subcontractor programmes for accuracy and achievability
Develop procurement and information release schedules
Identify programme risks and implement mitigation strategies
Provide planning expertise during pre-construction stages
Support and coach site teams in planning best practices
Contribute to continuous improvement of planning systems

About You

Demonstrable experience in a planning role within a main contractor environment
Proficient in planning software (Asta Powerproject preferred)
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capability
Full UK driving licence
