Job Summary
The Facade Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for full façade envelope packages. This is a key role within the pre-construction team, requiring strong technical knowledge and commercial awareness.
The successful candidate will have proven experience pricing complete façade systems and be confident managing tenders from enquiry through to submission.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing detailed cost estimates for full façade envelope packages (including cladding, curtain walling, glazing, SFS, rainscreen, render systems, and associated elements)
Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
Taking off quantities and building accurate cost plans
Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
Identifying risks and value engineering opportunities
Attending pre-tender and post-tender meetings as required
Supporting handover to the delivery team upon successful award
Requirements
Proven experience as a Facade Estimator
Full façade envelope experience is essential
Experience pricing projects between £1m and £20m
Strong technical understanding of façade systems and buildability
Ability to interpret drawings and specifications accurately
Commercial awareness and attention to detail
Strong communication and organisational skills
Office-based role in Stansted (no remote working)

Duties
Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to gather relevant data and ensure accuracy in estimates.
Develop detailed cost breakdowns for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
Monitor project budgets throughout the bidding process and adjust estimates as necessary.
Assist in the preparation of tender documents and proposals.
Conduct market research to stay informed about current pricing trends and material costs.
Identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety standards.
Maintain organised records of all estimates, revisions, and related correspondence for future reference.
Experience
Proven experience as an Estimator or similar role within the construction, manufacturing, or engineering sectors.
Strong understanding of project management principles and cost control techniques.
Excellent numerical skills with the ability to analyse complex data accurately.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite programmes.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Effective communication skills to liaise with clients, suppliers, and team members professionally.
A recognised qualification in quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
