About the Company
We are a well-established, medium-sized main contractor delivering high-quality construction projects across the Education, Automotive, and Heritage sectors. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Bid Writer to join our pre-construction team on a permanent basis.
Role Overview
The Bid Writer will be responsible for producing high-quality, compelling, and tailored written submissions to support successful bid and tender outcomes. Working closely with bid managers, estimators, and operational teams, you will translate technical and project information into clear, persuasive content that aligns with client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce and manage written responses for tenders, PQQs, and quality submissions
* Work closely with bid managers and operational teams to develop winning bid strategies
* Research and tailor content to meet specific client and project requirements
* Ensure all written submissions are accurate, consistent, and professionally presented
* Maintain and update a library of standard responses, case studies, and company information
* Manage multiple deadlines within a fast-paced bid environment
* Review and edit content to ensure compliance with tender requirements
Candidate Requirements
* Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a Bid Writer or similar role within construction or the wider built environment
* Strong understanding of construction terminology and the tendering process
* Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, structured, and persuasive content
* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines
* Experience within a main contractor environment is highly desirable
