The Opportunity
We are recruiting an experienced Development Surveyor to join a well‑established and highly regarded charitable organisation with a large and diverse property portfolio.
This is an urgent interim requirement, created following a recent leaver, and will focus on driving multiple live development and refurbishment projects through their final stages, ensuring progress and momentum are maintained across the portfolio.
While the initial contract is for 3 months (until end of July), there is clear potential for extension and longer‑term opportunity as the organisation continues to expand its portfolio. Over time, this role could develop into a Development Manager or Technical Manager position, supported by specialist technical teams.
The client is open to freelance contractors or PAYE fixed‑term candidates, with flexibility around structure for the right person.
The Role
This is a purely technical, project‑focused position – no sales, no leasing.
You will act as a key delivery‑focused resource, reviewing live schemes and pushing projects forward toward completion.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing and progressing active development and refurbishment projects through to completion
Reviewing existing projects and advising on next steps, prioritisation and delivery timelines
Acting as a technical and project‑focused advisor across a varied property portfolio
Working closely with internal property, asset and technical specialists
Supporting informed decision‑making on project direction and delivery strategy
Maintaining momentum across multiple schemes in a fast‑moving interim assignmentAbout You
You'll be someone who can hit the ground running, confident taking ownership of projects in a short‑term role.
Ideally, you will have:
Proven experience as a Development Surveyor or in a similar technical / asset / project‑focused role
Strong knowledge of the development lifecycle, particularly later‑stage delivery
A technical or project management background (highly desirable)
Experience managing multiple projects within a large or varied portfolio
The ability to work independently and prioritise effectively
Willingness to be office‑based in Fairford initially – in a beautiful office!Working Arrangements & Interviews
Full‑time preferred: 35 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 9-5)
Office presence is important initially due to the short contract and project handover
Hybrid working may be considered longer‑term
