We are seeking an experienced Estimator to support the tendering and pre‑construction delivery of a £20m high‑end project in London. The role will play a key part in producing accurate, competitive, and well‑considered cost estimates that reflect the quality, design complexity, and specialist finishes typical of luxury construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating & Cost Planning

Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans from concept through to tender submission

Measure and take‑off quantities from drawings, specifications, and schedules

Assess design development risks and allowances appropriate for high‑end construction

Ensure estimates accurately reflect market conditions, specialist subcontract input, and buildability considerations

Tender Preparation

Manage the full estimating process from enquiry to tender submission

Compile and issue subcontract and supplier enquiries

Analyse subcontractor returns and prepare comparison reports

Assist in value engineering and alternative proposals without compromising quality

Supply Chain & Market Engagement

Liaise with specialist subcontractors and suppliers, particularly those experienced in luxury finishes and bespoke elements

Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of material, labour, and plant costs within the London market

Build and maintain strong relationships with key supply chain partners

Commercial & Pre‑Construction Support

Work closely with Commercial Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and Project Managers

Support bid reviews and internal commercial approvals

Provide clarifications and breakout pricing as required

Contribute to risk registers and preliminaries assessments

Reporting & Documentation

Prepare clear tender documentation, qualifications, and pricing narratives

Maintain organised cost data and benchmarking information

Attend pre‑tender, post‑tender, and handover meetings

Skills & Experience Required

Essential

Proven experience as an Estimator on construction projects valued £10m+

Experience with high‑end residential, hospitality, or bespoke commercial projects

Strong understanding of UK construction methods and procurement

Excellent numerical, analytical, and attention‑to‑detail skills

Ability to interpret complex drawings, specifications, and design information

Desirable

Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar

Experience working with London contractors and specialist subcontractors

Knowledge of estimating software and Excel‑based cost planning tools
