The Role
As Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role within a growing regional team, based out of the Cardiff office. You will be responsible for managing and coordinating the design process across all project stages, ensuring seamless integration between design, commercial, and operational teams.
Working on a high-profile scheme, you’ll be instrumental in driving design quality, programme adherence, and technical excellence from pre-construction through to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the design process on a major construction project
* Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and external consultants
* Ensure designs meet client requirements, regulatory standards, and project objectives
* Work closely with project managers, commercial teams, and site teams
* Identify and mitigate design risks and opportunities
* Monitor design progress against programme deadlines
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Design Manager with a main contractor
* Strong track record delivering projects in the region of £30m–£60m+
* Excellent understanding of construction processes and technical design coordination
* Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive project outcomes
* Strong communication and leadership skills
