Plumbing / Mechanical Contracts Manager – Northwest | £52,000–£58,000 DOE + Car Allowance
Ashley Services are working with a growing building services contractor delivering high-quality residential and commercial projects across the Northwest. Due to continued expansion, they’re looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical / Plumbing Contracts Manager.
This is a key role for someone who can take full ownership of projects—from design through to handover—while managing multiple sites and maintaining high standards.
The Role
You’ll oversee a mix of:
* Residential developments (new builds, apartments, refurbishments, executive homes)
* Commercial projects (education, healthcare, warehousing)
A hands-on role within a fast-paced, growing business.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage mechanical & plumbing packages across multiple projects
* Deliver projects on time and within budget
* Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and developers
* Review drawings/specifications and ensure compliance
* Control costs, valuations, and variations
* Maintain quality standards (NHBC / building regs)
* Lead health & safety across sites
* Attend client/site meetings and report progress
* Support tendering and upcoming works
What We’re Looking For
* Proven Contracts Manager experience within mechanical/plumbing (residential)
* Strong knowledge of domestic heating & plumbing systems
* Experience on multi-unit residential schemes
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Strong commercial awareness
* Confident communicator and team leader
* Experience working alongside electrical contractors
Qualifications
* NVQ / HNC / HND / Degree in Mechanical / Building Services
* SMSTS (preferred)
* CSCS (Manager level)
* Gas Safe (desirable)
