Conrad Consulting is delighted to be working with a long-established, multi-disciplinary consultancy to recruit a Building Surveyor to join their growing project delivery team in Essex.

The Role

This is a project-focused Building Surveying position, sitting within a wider project management team and delivering schemes on behalf of a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities will include:

Supporting the development of project briefs, particularly within the education sector, including refurbishment and capital works schemes

Assisting with funding applications (e.g. CIF/SCA), including coordinating surveys and supporting documentation

Developing outline and detailed designs alongside in-house architectural teams

Producing detailed specifications and tender documentation

Acting in an Employer’s Agent / Contract Administrator capacity

Managing projects through delivery, including site visits, reporting, and contract administration duties

Preparing technical reports, meeting minutes, and health & safety documentation

Supporting wider building surveying duties such as condition surveys, defect analysis, and asset management planning

About You

2–3 years’ experience in a project-focused Building Surveying or Project Management role

Strong client-facing skills with the ability to manage relationships effectively

Experience producing high-quality technical documents and specifications

Good working knowledge of contract administration and project delivery

Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Proficient in Microsoft Office, including MS Project

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required

Desirable (but not essential):

Progression towards or holding a professional qualification (RICS, CIOB, or similar)

Experience within the education sector or funding-based projects

Project management qualifications (e.g. PRINCE2 or APM)
