Job Title: Project Manager

Location: Remote working available with some travel.

The Project Manager is responsible for the on-site supervision and co-ordination of gas, electricity, water and telecoms projects working closely with the Project Co-ordinator to ensure the successful delivery of schemes in a timely and accu rate manner.

Project Management

• To supervise multiple teams of sub-contractors, ensuring that projects are being completed on time and to the highest of standards.

• To attend on-site meetings with key stakeholders, providing expert knowledge and insight to ensure that the scope proposed considers efficient cost savings whilst maintaining all requirements.

• To produce meeting minutes outlining the necessary actions for the Project Team to undertake moving forward.

• To manage multiple projects across a range of clients, ensuring that clients are updated with any changes in re spect to the projects in a timely manner.

• To identify the council authority based upon the project site address and as such, make section 50 applications and prepare traffic management plans.

• To identify the minimum information requirements to enable a new connection application to be made to the Net work for gas, electricity and water connections

• To identify the gas, electricity, sewer and water Networks based upon a site address and postcode

• To be able to make applications to the Networks for new gas, electricity, water, sewer and telecommunication connections based on information provided by the client

• To be able to apply for STAT plans including gas, electricity, water, sewer, telecoms and TFL

• To know, on demand, the lead times for obtaining quotations for gas, electricity, water, sewer and telecommuni cation connections

• To know, on demand, the delivery times for new gas, electricity, water, sewer and telecommunication connec tions

• To be able to calculate the maximum demand of residential properties based upon the standard ADMD loads

• To be able to identify the gas meter required based upon loads provided by the client

• Advanced knowledge of gas, electricity and water connections

• Advanced knowledge of telecoms, sewer and traffic management

• Advanced knowledge of NJUG requirements

• Advanced knowledge of electricity and gas metering

• Knowledge of BNO/IDNO/Electrician metering options and cost/benefits of each option

• To interrogate and challenge Network designs to achieve best value/technical solution for client • Advanced Knowledge of excavations and civils

• Advanced Knowledge of Street works (Traffic Management etc). Standard Chapter 8 and Specialist traffic man agement including road closures and diversions

• Knowledge of using a CAT and Genny and GPR devices to record location of utilities

• To be able to train, educate and develop staff on the skills/processes listed above Supplier Management

• To interact professionally with suppliers to obtain information relevant to the project

• To chase suppliers for information/project deliverables etc in a professional manner

• To build strong supplier relationships

• To source new suppliers and ensure they meet ‘fit for purpose’ criteria. Identifying the best supplier(s) for the scope of work requested by the client.

• To be able to understand and keep up to date with supplier processes

• Liaise with suppliers and agents to ensure clarity on deliverables, costs and time scales while ensuring that these are met.

• To proactively identify where suppliers are not achieving SLAs and escalate accordingly

• To be able to identify where a supplier quotation varies from the scope of work requested by the client

• To manage supplier payments in line with project progress and contractual obligations Account Management

• To interact professionally with clients and project stakeholders, managing their expectations in line with the pro ject programme and associated risks whilst ensuring a positive experience.

• To answer calls in a professional manner and build rapport with key stakeholders

• To send professional emails in keeping with company standards

• To be able to handle difficult conversations within the context of the construction industry.

• To provide advice to clients as to how the load may affect the price paid or technical solution for their project. To flag where a slight change in load may reduce costs/improve buildability/improve GVA

• To be able to identify and close cross sale opportunities on projects

• To be able to build client profiles and map client companies based on client interaction and individual research

• To attend client, design team, traffic management and council meetings.

• To attend pre-meter and metering visits ensuring site is in a ready state for installation Commercial Management

• Have an excellent understanding of the company’s business model and the different services offered by the company

• Prepare project review packs in accordance with the company standards to ensure the projects are commer cially viable. Identifying errors in pricing, VAT or T&Cs in EE Quotes/Fee Proposals.

• To review quotations and ensure they contain our Special Conditions preventing incorporation of client's terms and conditions and limiting liability to contract value. Ensuring project costs remain within the pro jected forecast.

• To identify where risk exposure is above £10k and pass project to commercial team for review

• To ensure any suppliers have been audited by the commercial team and contain at least £5m liability insur ance (public/employers)

• To be able to identify terms within a supplier’s quotation that exposes us or the client to risk and flag these to the commercial team

• To ensure that our terms and conditions are back-to-back with the supplier terms and conditions

• If necessary, to escalate to line manager any correspondence that affects the commercial viability or risk pro file of projects.

• To ensure we are paid in line with our contract payment profile and make decisions on how to address non payments and to chase outstanding payments in line with contracts issued.

• To manage the project contract and ensure variations are issued for any scope changes/increases in scope. Experience & Qualifications • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Project Manager within the utilities/construction sector

• NRSWA Qualified

• SMSTS Qualified

• CSCS Black card

• Educated to degree level or have equivalent experience

• Microsoft Excel (Advanced)

• Strong numeracy and literacy skills
