Associate Planner / Associate Director
Conrad Consulting are thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for an experienced Chartered Town Planner to step in to an exciting Associate / Associate Director role in Sheffield. This esteemed company is among the UK's premier employee-owned, planning-led practices, renowned for delivering bespoke multidisciplinary consultancy to various clients across the development sector.
Key Responsibilities
You will be involved in delivering high-quality research and analysis across a broad range of planning-related projects, including:
Housing needs and land availability assessments
Five-year housing land supply assessments and appeal support
Demographic and socio-economic analysis
Employment land studies and economic impact assessments
Infrastructure delivery planning and sustainability appraisals
Green Belt reviews and strategic site promotion
Local Plan and Neighbourhood Plan preparation
Specialist housing studies (e.g. affordable housing, older persons housing, HMOs)
You will also contribute to planning appeals, Local Plan examinations, and wider strategic planning debates.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will likely have:
At least 5 years’ experience in town planning or socio-economic research
A strong understanding of the UK planning system and policy framework
Experience preparing evidence-based reports (e.g. housing need, land supply, site assessments)
Involvement in planning appeals and/or Local Plan examinations (desirable)
Chartered RTPI status (or working towards) preferred
Strong analytical, report writing, and presentation skills
Good IT skills, including spreadsheets and data analysis tools
You will be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
