Quantity Surveyor / Estimator – Fit-Out & Joinery Projects
Skelmersdale, North West – Salary: £40,000-£45,000 per annum + package

Your new role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their commercial team. This is a dual-role position combining estimating and surveying responsibilities, giving you full project lifecycle involvement from tender stage through to final account. You will play a key role in pricing work, managing costs, and ensuring commercial success across multiple fit-out and joinery projects.
Responsibilities will include:
Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for fit-out and joinery projects
Analysing drawings, specifications, and project requirements to produce accurate pricing
Managing project costs from pre-construction through to completion
Preparing and submitting valuations, variations, and final accounts
Negotiating with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
Procuring subcontract packages and materials in line with project budgets
Monitoring project financial performance and reporting to senior management
Identifying risks and opportunities within tenders and live projects
Supporting project teams with commercial advice and cost control
Maintaining strong relationships with clients and supply chain partnersWhat you will need to succeed:
Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor and/or Estimator role within fit-out, joinery, or refurbishment sectors
Strong knowledge of construction costs, estimating, and commercial management
Experience working on projects up to £2million
Ability to interpret drawings and specifications accurately
Excellent negotiation and communication skills
Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tenders and projects simultaneously
Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating softwareWhat you get in return:
