A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor delivering a high-profile, major infrastructure project in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a large, complex civil engineering scheme, working within an experienced and supportive commercial team for one of the UK's leading main contractors.

The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will quickly become an integral part of the commercial management team and responsible for a portfolio of subcontract packages, taking them from procurement to final accounts. You'll work closely with senior commercial staff while gaining exposure to all aspects of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in managing project costs to ensure delivery within budget
Support the preparation of cost reports, forecasts, and budget updates
Administer contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions
Assist with the management of variations and change control processes
Support subcontract procurement, including tendering and evaluation
Prepare and assist with interim valuations and applications for payment
Identify and escalate commercial risks and opportunities
Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders
Contribute to value engineering initiatives
Provide commercial support to the wider project team
Requirements
Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Assistant Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure, civil engineering, or utilities
Familiarity with the NEC form of contract
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Good communication and organisational abilities
Able to commute to Central Birmingham (minimum expectation 3 days per week)
Salary & Package
£40,000 to £60,000 basic salary

25-26 days annual leave + bank holidays
Option to purchase up to 8 additional days
