Role Overview

Lead and manage the estimating function within a specialist passive fire protection contractor

*

Oversee full tender lifecycle from enquiry through to handover

*

Play a key role in securing and delivering profitable projects

Key Responsibilities

*

Manage and oversee all tender submissions

*

Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation

*

Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates

*

Price passive fire protection packages including fire stopping, intumescent coatings and fire boarding

*

Develop tender strategies to maximise success rates

*

Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options

*

Liaise with clients, main contractors, and internal teams

*

Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations and industry standards

*

Support pre-construction and early engagement activities

*

Lead tender adjudication processes

*

Manage workload and priorities within the estimating team

*

Mentor and develop junior estimators

*

Improve estimating systems, processes, and reporting

*

Support smooth project handover to delivery teams

*

Attend meetings, site visits, and pre-contract discussions

*

Build and maintain strong client and supply chain relationships

Requirements

*

Proven experience in estimating within construction

*

Strong background in passive fire protection (essential)

*

Experience pricing fire stopping, compartmentation, or similar works

*

Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications

*

Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail

*

Excellent communication and leadership skills

*

Experience managing or mentoring a team (preferred)
