P&D/HV Power Construction Manager – Rail

Our client is currently sourcing a P&D/HV Power Construction Manager for their rail project based in Manchester on a long-term contract basis (inside IR35)

The main purpose of the role is to lead the delivery of plant and distribution works for rail substation projects and support the P&D team in delivering allocated contracts safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with legislation, company procedures, and contract requirements.

Other responsibilities:

* Lead and manage all P&D construction activities on rail substation projects

* Take ownership of site delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to required quality standards

* Plan and coordinate installation activities including methodology, sequencing, and resource allocation

* Develop and manage construction programmes

* Monitor progress and implement corrective actions where required

* Oversee installation of plant and distribution systems including switchgear, transformers, cabling, earthing, and associated equipment

Skills/Experience required

* Proven experience as a Construction Manager or Senior Site Manager within P&D / rail power infrastructure

* Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety)

* OLEC1 Qualification

* Strong knowledge of Network Rail standards and processes

* Experience managing multiple subcontractors and complex site operations

* Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills

* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications

* Full UK driving licence

* Experience delivering rail substation or power infrastructure projects (desirable)

* COSS (desirable)

* Level B substation access(desirable)
