Assistant/Trainee Site Manager: Salary is dependent on experience – Circa £20,000.00 – 35,000.00 per year

Overview

You will support the Site Manager and Project Manager by ensuring all client enquiries, issues, and requests are actioned and resolved within agreed timescales. The role involves assisting with the coordination of site installation operatives and subcontractors, supporting technical queries, monitoring performance, and maintaining oversight of health and safety. Reporting to the Site Manager, you will help manage the development of the site through to completion, ensuring programme and quality targets are achieved through effective coordination of the site team and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Site Manager in coordinating trades, subcontract labour, and materials to meet programme requirements.

• Take ownership of duties allocated by the Site Manager and be prepared to deputise when operational needs require.

• Support the Site Manager in ensuring on site installation operatives are well directed, supported, and provided with clear guidance.

• Work alongside the site delivery team and ensure regular site meetings are attended and actions followed through.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate teams.

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast paced environment.

• Good understanding of construction processes and experience dealing with on site issues.

• Strong knowledge of building trades and site operations.

Qualifications:

• Valid CSCS Card

Desirable

• IT literate with experience in using Microsoft office ( excel and outlook) systems.

• Time served Carpenter/Joiner progressing into management, or a Graduate currently working towards (or willing to undertake) an HNC/HND or NVQ Level 4 in Construction Management.

• Valid First Aid at Work Certificate

• Fire Marshal Certificate
