Associate Director Building Surveyor
We are working with a thriving multidisciplinary property consultancy in Manchester city centre, looking to appoint a Chartered Building Surveyor at Associate Director level.
The role offers the opportunity to lead major commercial projects, chair client meetings and play a key role in the continued growth of the business.
You will be working within a collaborative consultancy that delivers projects from concept through to completion.
With a strong pipeline of work, this is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded senior building surveyor looking to work within a supportive and ambitious environment.
The Opportunity
The office environment is collaborative and fast paced, with teams working closely together across multiple service lines to deliver high quality projects for clients.
Projects vary significantly in scale and complexity, ranging from office refurbishments through to major commercial fit outs.
Most projects are based across the North West, particularly in Greater Manchester, although the consultancy also delivers work in London and internationally.
You will typically manage 4 – 5 live projects at any one time, each at different stages of delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Service Delivery
Lead project management and contract administration on commercial refurbishment and fit-out schemes
Oversee projects from feasibility through to completion, managing programme, risk, and quality
Deliver core building surveying services including acquisition surveys, schedules of condition, project monitoring, and dilapidations
Undertake defect diagnosis and provide commercially focused solutionsClient & Stakeholder Management
Act as a trusted advisor to commercial clients
Chair meetings and manage key stakeholder relationshipsLeadership
Mentor junior team members and support their development
Contribute to the growth of the building consultancy offeringAbout You
MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor
Strong experience within commercial building consultancy
Proven track record delivering both project and professional surveying work
Confident communicator able to chair meetings and engage with clients
Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage multiple instructions simultaneously
