Senior Quantity Surveyor

We’re looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a high-performing commercial team delivering a key rail design framework across major civil engineering projects. This is a strategic role at the forefront of infrastructure development, supporting the successful commercial delivery of complex, multidisciplinary rail schemes.

You’ll play a pivotal role in managing costs across the design lifecycle, ensuring value, compliance, and commercial integrity from concept through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead commercial management across rail civils design packages within the framework

* Prepare and manage cost plans, estimates, and budgets throughout the project lifecycle

* Provide robust cost advice to design teams and stakeholders

* Manage change control processes and assess variations

* Support procurement strategies and tender evaluations

* Monitor project performance, identifying risks and opportunities

* Ensure compliance with contract terms (e.g., NEC forms of contract)

* Mentor and support junior commercial staff

About You

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within rail and/or civil engineering

* Strong understanding of design-stage cost management

* Experience working within frameworks or large-scale infrastructure programmes

* Sound knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4 preferred)

* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills

* Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or related field

Salary upto £70,000 plus package.
