Intermediate / Quantity Surveyor – Residential Developer

Location: Derby
Salary: Competitive + package

We are currently recruiting for an Intermediate / Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established residential developer delivering high-quality housing schemes across the East Midlands. This is a great opportunity for a commercially astute individual looking to take more ownership across projects while continuing to develop within a supportive team.

The Role

As part of a dynamic commercial team, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of residential developments from procurement through to final account. You’ll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on budget while maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and site teams.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage cost control and financial reporting across multiple developments

* Prepare and manage subcontractor packages, from procurement through to final account

* Produce valuations, cost forecasts, and monthly reports

* Identify and manage variations and commercial risks

* Support tendering and pricing of new developments

* Work closely with site teams to monitor progress and ensure cost efficiency

* Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure smooth commercial delivery

* Assist in final account negotiations and project close-out

What We’re Looking For

* Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within residential construction or housebuilding

* Strong understanding of cost management and subcontractor control

* Proven ability to manage projects through key commercial stages

* Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction (HNC/HND/Degree)

* Good communication and negotiation skills

* Ability to work independently while contributing to a wider team
