Site Manager
We are currently working with a well-established contractor within the planned maintenance sector who is looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager on a permanent basis.
Reporting into the Contracts Manager, the successful candidate will take responsibility for overseeing site operations, managing subcontractors and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard. The role will involve close coordination with operational teams, residents and clients to ensure projects run smoothly and within programme.
This opportunity would particularly suit someone with experience in fire safety and compliance-led works, including fire stopping, fire door remediation and wider planned maintenance projects within occupied environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage day-to-day site activities and oversee subcontractors and operatives
• Review specifications and work orders prior to commencement, highlighting any issues or discrepancies
• Monitor programmes and progress, ensuring works are delivered on time and within contract requirements
• Produce and manage RAMS, toolbox talks and site health & safety documentation
• Ensure compliance with all health & safety regulations and company procedures
• Liaise with residents, client teams and internal departments to provide updates on planned works
• Carry out regular quality inspections and prepare snagging reports where required
• Maintain accurate site records, including progress updates, variations and photographic reports
• Coordinate labour and supply chain activities to minimise disruption and maximise efficiency
• Work closely with commercial teams regarding project progress and potential risks
Candidate Requirements
• Previous experience working within social housing or planned maintenance
• Strong understanding of refurbishment and compliance-led projects
• Excellent site management and health & safety knowledge
• Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades on site
• Good communication and client-facing skills
• Commercial awareness and ability to identify project risks
Desirable Experience
• Fire stopping works
• Fire door remediation and inspections
• Understanding of post-Grenfell fire safety regulations and compliance standards
• Knowledge of ISO quality and environmental standards
