Quantity Surveyor – Shopfitting & Interior Fit-Out

About the Role

A1 Jobs are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in shopfitting, interior fit-out, and retail refurbishment projects to join our clients growing team operating across Scotland.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded QS who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has experience managing multiple fit-out projects from pre-construction through to final account.

You will work closely with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered profitably, efficiently, and to the highest standards

Key Responsibilities

* Managing project costs from tender stage through to final account

* Preparing valuations, variations, and cost reports

* Procuring subcontractors and negotiating packages

* Monitoring project budgets and identifying commercial risks

* Reviewing and administering subcontractor payments

* Preparing and submitting interim applications for payment

* Supporting project delivery teams with commercial advice

* Managing change control procedures and contract administration

* Building and maintaining strong client relationships

* Ensuring projects achieve commercial targets and margins

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within shopfitting, retail fit-out, or interior refurbishment

* Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes

* Experience managing fast-track fit-out projects

* Excellent understanding of subcontract procurement and cost control

* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

* Strong negotiation and communication skills

* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting systems

* Full UK driving licence

* Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management preferred

Desirable Experience

* Experience working on retail, hospitality, leisure, or commercial interiors

* Knowledge of JCT contracts

* Experience working with national retail clients

* Familiarity with site-based project environments across Scotland
