Mechancial Package Manager – Data Centre – Munich
Falcon Green is partnering with a leading international Tier 1 main contractor renowned for delivering complex, large-scale life sciences and mission-critical projects across Europe and beyond. As part of their continued expansion, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Package Manager for data centre projects based in Munich, Germany.
As a Mechanical Package Manager, you will work closely with site teams, subcontractors, and the client to ensure the successful delivery of mechanical packages throughout all phases of the project — from pre-construction and installation through to commissioning and final handover. The ideal candidate will have a proven background delivering large-scale mechanical systems on mission-critical or major construction projects, with strong experience managing programme, quality, safety, and subcontractor performance.
In addition to a competitive salary, the successful candidate will benefit from a living away from home allowance, return flights, accommodation, and other associated perks.
Responsibilities:
* Manage and oversee all mechanical package works on site, ensuring delivery is achieved safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
* Coordinate closely with the project team, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives to ensure smooth project execution and successful delivery milestones.
* Lead and manage site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors while maintaining strong collaboration across all disciplines to avoid clashes, delays, or programme impacts.
* Monitor and manage project schedules in line with overall construction programmes and client expectations.
* Oversee all QA/QC activities relating to the mechanical scope, ensuring inspections, testing, documentation, and handover requirements are completed correctly.
* Ensure site safety standards are maintained in collaboration with the project safety team and that all mechanical activities comply with company and statutory regulations.
* Manage subcontractor performance, progress, manpower levels, and productivity, ensuring weekly coordination and progress meetings are conducted and documented.
* Track and control project costs, variations, and commercial risks in conjunction with the commercial team and Project QS.
* Maintain accurate project reporting, including weekly progress updates, labour forecasts, safety statistics, risks, delays, and procurement concerns.
* Chair and attend project meetings including coordination meetings, engineering reviews, client meetings, and commissioning/handover meetings.
* Oversee commissioning activities and ensure all mechanical systems are delivered in line with client specifications and commissioning programmes.
* Support the successful project close-out process, including O&M manuals, QA documentation, snagging, testing and balancing records, and final handover documentation.
* Ensure all subcontractor and project documentation is maintained, updated, and correctly archived throughout the project lifecycle.
* Assist in the implementation and continuous improvement of company procedures, project controls, and delivery standards.
* Manage change effectively, ensuring impacts on programme, cost, and resources are identified, communicated, and mitigated where possible.
Requirements:
* Relevant trade background or third-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
* Proven experience working as a Mechanical Package Manager or Senior Mechanical Engineer on large-scale construction or mission-critical projects.
* Strong background delivering mechanical packages on data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial, or other complex projects.
* Excellent understanding of mechanical systems, QA/QC processes, commissioning, and project delivery.
* Experience managing subcontractors, programme coordination, and commercial reporting.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD/BIM platforms.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Flexibility to travel or work in mainland Europe as required.
