About the Role
We are seeking a highly capable Asset Manager to lead the delivery of an ambitious Asset Management Strategy across a diverse property portfolio.
This is a key leadership position responsible for driving performance, value, and long-term sustainability. You will oversee investment planning, asset performance, and maintenance programmes, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements while delivering a customer-focused, commercial approach to asset management.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Portfolio Management
Lead the delivery of the Asset Management Strategy, ensuring long-term portfolio sustainability and maximising return on investment
Analyse asset performance to identify underperforming stock and implement improvement or disposal strategies
Set and maintain asset, home, and component standards
Asset Performance & Investment
Oversee planned maintenance, renewal, and servicing programmes to ensure efficiency and value for money
Lead long-term investment planning using data-driven insights
Maintain accurate and robust asset data to support reporting and forward planning
Drive continuous improvement in asset performance and customer outcomes
Compliance & Sustainability
Ensure full compliance with all regulatory, legislative, and industry requirements
Lead programmes supporting sustainability targets, including progress towards net zero carbon by 2050
Oversee delivery of energy performance improvements across the portfolio
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, develop, and motivate a high-performing Asset Management team
Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance across programmes
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards
Stakeholder Engagement
Build effective relationships with internal teams, partners, and external stakeholders
Work collaboratively with customer-facing teams to ensure a seamless and high-quality service
Engage with regulators and contribute to strategic reporting
Procurement & Programme Delivery
Oversee procurement and contract management to deliver best value outcomes
Lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects across the asset portfolio
Drive operational efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
Essential Experience & Skills
Significant experience in a senior asset management or property maintenance leadership role
Strong expertise in contract and project management
Proven experience managing substantial budgets and delivering value for money
Advanced knowledge of asset management systems and data analysis
Experience in planned maintenance, investment planning, and asset performance management
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
Desirable
Experience within the social housing sector
Professional membership (e.g. RICS, CIOB)
Experience managing large budgets (£5m+ per annum)
Knowledge of property investment and financial principles
Experience presenting to senior stakeholders
