A leading main contractor specialising in high rise residential and large-scale construction projects is seeking an experienced and driven Head of Health & Safety to lead and manage all aspects of health, safety, environmental, and compliance across the business.

This is a senior leadership position for a proactive individual with strong experience managing health & safety on complex high-rise construction schemes and a proven ability to drive a positive safety culture throughout operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

* Leading the company’s health & safety strategy across all projects and operations

* Ensuring full compliance with HSE legislation, company procedures, and industry standards

* Conducting site audits, inspections, and incident investigations across high-rise developments

* Developing and implementing policies, RAMS, and safe systems of work

* Working closely with site management teams to promote best practice and continuous improvement

* Managing training programmes, toolbox talks, and workforce engagement initiatives

* Monitoring H&S performance, reporting findings, and implementing corrective actions

* Liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities

* Supporting pre-construction and tender teams on H&S planning and compliance

Requirements

* Proven experience in a senior Health & Safety role for a main contractor

* Strong background working on high-rise residential or large-scale construction projects

* NEBOSH Construction Certificate or Diploma essential

* Excellent knowledge of current HSE legislation and CDM regulations

* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills

* Ability to influence teams and maintain high safety standards across multiple projects

* Full UK driving licence

* Chartered IOSH membership advantageous
